Initial Verification is carried out on a new installation before it is put into service. The purpose is to confirm by way of inspecting & testing, during construction and on completion that the installation complies with the design and construction aspects of BS7671, in so far as reasonably practicable.
If you have had installation work carried out, an Electrical installation certificate must be issued upon completion to certify and ensure that the condition of the installation adheres to current wiring regulations and is safe to use. At RES, all electrical installation work is certified under NICEIC, guaranteeing you that your new wiring complies with regulations.
The purpose of an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) on an existing building and structure is to provide an engineering view on whether or not the installation is in a satisfactory condition where it can continue to be used safely. We carry out EICR’s on various building from schools & healthcare to residential dwellings & manufacturing plants. If you’re a landlord this is now a legal requirement for you to have completed before your tenants enter the property.
On completion of the Electrical Installation Condition Report a report and its accompanying schedules will be issued to the client or the person who ordered the inspection. We can then take a look at our findings and issue a list of remedial work along with a quotation to ensure you building is compliant.
The intervals between Periodic Inspection & testing must be considered carefully depending on the type of installation. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call for free advice on when your next inspection is due.
Legislations now in force requires that a Landlord or managing agent shall ensure that electrical equipment and the electrical wiring system shall be in a satisfactory (ie.safe) condition.
It is now accepted in the letting industry that the only effective way to ensure electrical safety, and to avoid the risk of being accused of neglecting your duty of care, is to arrange an inspection and possess a satisfactory NICEIC Electrical Installation Condition Report.
We here at RES have recognised this and have put together a unique service whereby we not only survey wiring and test appliances but can also repair or upgrade any system so that it may meet with current standards.
We also carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) for businesses, landlords and individuals, to ensure that the electrical products you use on a daily basis are safe. For businesses, these annual tests are mandatory by law, however we also advise that testing is carried out on personal appliances too. On completion of your portable appliance testing you will be issued with an electronic log of all items you have so it makes ease for the following years testing.
We understand that emergency lighting tests are critical. Since emergency lighting solutions help people evacuate buildings and maintain health and safety in the event of a catastrophe, keeping these systems in excellent working order is a must. At RES we offer maintenance contracts that include tests and inspections during or outside of business hours. This ensures you have functioning critical emergency lighting that will perform its duty whenever required, in full adherence with legal codes and regulations.
